An Introduction To Saws

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Thomas Morva There are many different types of saws. Whatever the type, they all have the same purpose. All saws are made to cut things with a serrated blade. Saws are used to make large pieces of wood, or other materials into smaller pieces. Handsaws are a common type that is seen in workshops. A hand saw is a very simple tool that uses a blade thick enough to be stiff. A crosscut saw is an example of a handsaw. A crosscut saw is used when you need to make a right-angle cut going against the grain of the wood. Other types of saws are different from the handsaw, primarily because they are powered by other means. Another type of saw is the mechanically powered saw. The teeth of this saw cut material while the saw itself is stationary. A band saw is an example of a mechanically powered saw. It is used in woodwork or metalwork. Saws of this type can be very large and heavy-duty. Timber companies commonly use large mechanical saws where heavy-duty saws capable of cutting large amounts of wood in a short time are essential. Another type of mechanically powered saw is the chain saw. The chain saw is usually included in ones collection of saws. Most homeowners find this a necessary tool to own for clearing trees or limbs in their yards. It is also useful for people who want to quickly cut firewood. The saw, regardless of type, is very common in many tool shops. It is very useful around the home, especially for cutting wood or other materials. Saws provides detailed information on Saws, Chain Saws, Band Saws, Table Saws and more. Saws is affiliated with Beach Umbrellas. Planning for the Most Important Day of Your Life

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Andy Powers Many a new bride finds herself in a very stressful position during the planning of her wedding; she worries that during all the hullabaloo and fuss that she may overlook some crucial detail and ruin her big day. “How can I possibly keep up with everything? Well, this checklist will make your life a little easier as you scramble around in preparation for the Biggest Day Of Your Life. Don’t give yourself a cardiac right before your wedding; it’s perfectly acceptable (and expected) for you to offload a significant portion of the planning duties to other people. The women in your life are ready and willing to help you out, now more than ever. They’ll consider themselves honored to be a part of getting you ready for your big day; if they need you to ask them for help, go ahead and do it. Make sure you take the time to hold a “dress rehearsal” for yourself. Put on your entire bridal ensemble and get accustomed to moving around in it. This is the best way to ensure that you don’t have any last minute problems with poorly-fitted clothing or shoes. Do your best to select unique wedding favors; favors are an often-overlooked way to leave a lasting emotional impression with your guests when they recall your wedding. It’s OK to use an amateur photographer or videographer for your wedding, but if you do, ask to see some type of example of their past work - you don’t want to be someone’s lab-rat. If you aren’t comfortable with the composition of their shots and the overall feel of their photos, don’t even consider using them. Wedding photos are obviously impossible to re-shoot, and this is one are that you need to be confident that you’re getting what you expect. Book the time and venue of your ceremony / reception as soon as you can; some feel that scoring a sweet deal at the last minute due to others’ cancellations is a nice way to save money on weddings, but this method of choosing a location is just too risky. The stress won’t be worth the money you might save. Your special day needs to be just that special. We hope this checklist will help you to achieve your goal of enjoying the best day of your life to the maximum! Eschatology - The Holy Spirit and the Signs of the End

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By William Bell, Jr. A sign of the end which most recognize is the coming of the Holy Spirit. Joel prophesied the coming of the Spirit in the last days (Joel 2:28-30). His prophecy is mentioned several times in the New Covenant, most notably in Acts 2:16-20. In fact, each time the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the New Testament, the prophecy of Joel is in the background. The Gift of Tongues and Christ’s Return Citing Joel’s prophecy Peter says, “This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel” alluding to the exercise of the gift of tongue-speaking. He affirmed that the role of the eschatological Spirit continued until the fall of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, (Acts 2:19, 20 equating this with Christ’s second coming Compare Matthew 24:29, 34; 1 Corinthians 1:7, 8. What was key about tongue-speaking in the first century is that it confirmed imminent judgment upon the nation of Israel. The Prophecy of Tongues and Judgment Isaiah’s prophecy provides the context of judgment citing that men of other lips (of a foreign language, meaning the Assyrians, 8th century B.C.) would speak to the rebellious house of Israel. (Isaiah 28:11, 12) Paul correcting the first century church of the misuse of tongue speaking cites this prophecy saying that tongue speaking was a sign, not to believers but to unbelieving Israel. In so doing, he alludes to the coming judgment upon the ancient nation in A.D. 70. (1 Corinthians 14:20, 21) Such confirms that the modern state of Israel has no place in prophecy and contrary to popular opinion, absolutely nothing to do with the end-time. How To Make Your Diet Weight-Loss Program Work?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Livingstone Mwangombe The current statistics by the health authorities are shocking. It is sad to learn that there is a sharp rise in the cases of obesity among the American public. It is more shocking to see that there is an increase in obesity among young adults. These are our future leaders and it is a looming danger to the productivity of our nation. One in every three Americans is obese. How do we define obesity? In simple terms, obesity is a serious condition in which an individual’s body weight goes way above the ideal or expected body-weight. Medically, they use the body-mass index or BMI which is a relationship between the height in inches and the weight in pounds of an individual. A BMI greater than 30 is considered obese whereas the normal BMI is between 20 and 25. A BMI greater than 25 but less than 30 is considered over-weight. There are various websites which can help you determine your BMI. There are many more sites on google and other search engines. What causes obesity? There are various causes of obesity which include but not limited to genetics, diet, life-style, sex, drugs and age. Presence of certain genes in some families predisposes the members to obesity. Some individuals are highly susceptible to obesity because of their family inheritance. It is for this reason that we sometimes see a family of obese members. On the other hand, diet is a key environmental factor contributing to development of obesity. Many Americans are no longer cooking in their homes, instead, they have fallen prey to fast-food chains and restaurants. Most of the recipes found in these food places are not healthy. They, quite often, compromise on quality but satisfy quantity and affordability. Life-style is another key factor in the growth of the many cases of obesity. The change of life among most Americans is headed for the worst. Most people no longer have enough exercises.Exercise is a key component in managing obesity. Today, lack of exercise as seen in the more common sedentary life-style is detrimental to health. There is a sex -related element in obesity. More women tend to become obese due to the hormonal changes they go through their life. Puberty in women, pregnancy and menopause are some but a few of the hormonal changes that women go through. On the other hand, more men are now becoming obese as early as in their teenage years. Drugs are contributing to increase in obesity as well. As we make medical advances, the increased use of drugs to manage certain disease conditions has led to an increase in obesity. Certain drugs for certain conditions such as diabetes, depression, psychosis and hormonal replacements have been known to lead to weight gain and eventually to obesity. Finally, age is an important factor to be considered. We now see obesity throughout the age spectrum. However, obesity is more common in adults than in children. It is now shocking to learn that there is a tremendous increase in teenage obesity. This is a worrying fact which needs immediate reversal. Obesity is dangerous. This is because it increases the risk of dying from heart attacks, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, kidney failure, depression and many more conditions. Obesity is also a social problem. As obesity progresses the individual becomes detached from his daily activities and starts to depend on either family or welfare services for support. This is both a social and economic burden. Many millions can be saved if we fight obesity. As an overview of the facts about the causes of obesity, the factors may work in a relationship or singly to lead to obesity. In order for, a diet program to succeed in controlling obesity and promoting weight-loss, it must address all these causative factors. The program must address the genetic input and address diet issues too. Life-style changes must be promoted and implemented. The sex element should be addressed as well. Finally, the age of the individual must be considered in the program. With all these factors addressed individually or severally, the diet program is bound to succeed with flying colours. http://www.buybestsale.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Livingstone_Mwangombe http://EzineArticles.com/?How-To-Make-Your-Diet-Weight-Loss-Program-Work?&id=404577 zolpidem research effects of zolpidem ambien or lunesta dual use of cocaine and ambien

5 Brilliant Principles for Super Effective Weight Loss

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Joseph Cole Sick of all the conflicting ideas about how to lose weight? It’s no wonder most of us are still overweight, we don’t even know where to begin! Here are 5 proven method to shedding the excess fat once and for all: #1 - Avoid processed starches and sugars Processed starches such as white bread and refined sugars found in most “low-fat” foods contain very little nutritional value. They are loaded with empty calories which will pack on the pounds in no time. #2 - Eat foods low on the GI scale Most high GI foods will spike your blood sugar level, prompting your pancreas to release insulin. When insulin is released, it suppresses the hormones glucagon and growth hormone. These are the hormones that cause your body to burn fat! Check out http://www.glycemicindex.com for foods low in GI. #3 - Eat more “healthy fats” Increasing your intake of healthy fats will give you a boost in energy levels, improve your mood, strengthen your joints and improve your skin. And if less than 10% of your daily calories come from fats, your bodys starvation mechanism can be triggered… which is the absolute worst thing for fat loss! #4 - Eat 4-6 times a day (no, seriously) Many people ask me why you have to eat more regularly. The reason is simple - so your body doesn’t go into starvation mode. The more often you eat, the faster your metabolism becomes. I find it absurd that this one fact is ignored by almost every fad diet plan today. #5 - Avoid carbs at night Eating carbs at night promotes fat storage while you sleep. Instead, replace those starchy carbs with fibrous carbs such as a green veggie salad. There you have it, follow these five simple steps and you’ll be well on your way to achieving the body of your dreams. The next step is to incorporate an exercise and strength building program that will shed those excess pounds at lightning speed, and keep the fat off for life! Click this link to learn of a simple paint-by-numbers weight loss plan that will melt pound after pound of excess fat from your body. Hint - unlike popular fad diets, it’s designed to work *with* the human body instead of against it. Discover more on The ANTI-Diet Plan! Better Legal Billing: Win Win Client Options

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Daniel Harris In the old days of legal billing, lawyer’s invoices usually a single page of elegant letterheadcontained only the phrase, “legal services rendered,” and a hefty dollar amount. No time breakdowns, no list of activities performed or equipment and supplies usedjust a final, usually shocking, charge. But client demands and the evolution of sophisticated billing software have led to more detailed invoices today. Itemized statements have triggered discussion among businesses about whether hourly billing is the best way to be charged for legal services. As the legal profession becomes more competitive and dependent on high quality customer service, lawyers need to embrace alternate billing methods. Fixed or flat fees, contingency fees, non-refundable retainers with discounted hourly fees, blended hourly fees and variations on those themes are becoming increasingly common. But many law firms have been slow to join this trend lawyers still perform approximately 95 percent of their corporate legal work on an hourly basis. What does that mean for your small business? If your company is currently working with a law firm or looking for legal counsel, try requesting alternate billing options. While many law firms rarely initiate different options, they’ll negotiate when brought to the table. If you want something better than the old “bill by the hour” deal, try presenting one of these billing structures: Project billing for routine issues If your legal needs include large but repetitive tasks, consider a flat-fee approach, also known as project billing. If you need legal assistance on a large research project involving several repetitive tasks with a fair amount of predictability for cost estimation and time duration, request a dollar cap for predetermined services. Be sure to compare estimated costs at the equivalent hourly ratea projected cap that far exceeds any likely bill is really no cap at all. Once you get a project billing estimate, don’t hesitate to shop around. Making an informed decision shopping around, comparing prices and services with other law firms is good business sense, especially if you intend to hire a firm for a single project. If you anticipate establishing a long-term relationship, mention this as you’re negotiating a project amount a firm may provide a better deal if it expects future work from your company. Results-oriented options Forget the image of personal injury attorneys taking a third of any verdict or settlement. Consider instead contingency fees fees based on the outcome of the case and the performance of your counsel. Creative use of contingency fees can create efficiencies in even the most high-level corporate settings. If you retain a lawyer to help your company avoid litigation, couple a reduced hourly rate with a bonus for successfully lowering your litigation outlays. You also can establish an incentive based on a percentage of money won or saved in trial. If you’re a defendant in a case where the plaintiff has a strong shot at a $1 million settlement, negotiate a flat fee if the case goes to trial, plus a bonus if the plaintiff ends up getting less than $1 million. If you’re a plaintiff and estimate your case is worth between $1 and $2 million, you might negotiate services for a flat fee plus a percentage of any settlement over $1 million. Contingency fees turn the matter into a shared risk or shared incentive, making the law firm your business partner, not just representation. Contingency fees can work well with both flat fee and reduced hourly fee arrangements. Because a number of variations on the “pay-according-to-success” theme exist, you should ask firms for the options they’re willing to discuss. Multi-layered tasks If you’re shopping for a firm for substantial legal work involving a number of legal specialties, consider using blended hourly fees. Rather than each attorney billing at the usual hourly rate, the firm calculates in advance an “average” rate based on the anticipated time each attorney spends on the matter. The value of this arrangement is twofoldit helps define responsibility in a project and it provides a fair price schedule for the client, who avoids paying a senior partner’s hourly rate for research that should be conducted by a junior associate Legal “Insurance” Firms without in-house counsel that frequently hire legal services might consider contracting with a firm. In this legal billing option, firms and clients agree to a specific charge per month in exchange for a predetermined set of legal services. The contract fee permits the client to pick up the phone and talk to the attorney without needing to eye the clock. This approach works like a legal insurance policy. It encourages companies to contact their counsel on non-litigation, non-crisis matters, and to save money in the long run by engaging in more preventive legal action. Just as in business, the impetus for change comes from consumer demand. The sooner businesses take the lead in securing more effectively tailored billing methods from their legal counsel, the sooner they’ll get better, more cost-effective legal assistance. The Work of God Must Go Forward!

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By David Ben-Ariel What’s next for the Church of God? Malachi’s Message has served its purpose. (A book written by Gerald Flurry, pastor general of the Philadelphia Church of God). Those who have ears to hear have listened to what the Spirit of God has had to say to the Church of God. It’s now time to move on. The Work of God must go forward. The only work that’s left to do now is focus on the NATIONAL LEVEL. We must get out God’s ultimatum and fast! Europe is on the rise and Jerusalem is getting international attention (Zech. 14:2). Soon God’s two witnesses will rise and shine in a world of darkness (Isa. 60:1-2). God’s about to restore His lamp to the Middle East! (Rev. 11:3; 1 Kgs. 11:36; Amos 9:11; Zech. 12:8). By Gerald Flurry’s own admission, Malachi’s Message has nothing to say about nations. That’s proper, because it was basically his commission to focus in on the Church. Does Mystery of the Ages warn the world? (Herbert W. Armstrong’s crown work). How can it when it doesn’t even include the words Germany, Beast or Europe in its index? Mystery of the Ages is undoubtedly the most important book written since the Bible to preach the gospel around the world. But doesn’t Gerald Flurry understand that’s already been accomplished? BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. The Work of God must go forward, not backwards. It’s true that we must always preach the gospel, but now it’s time to emphasize a WARNING MESSAGE. The Church has been warned. The world hasn’t. We must warn them like they’ve never been warned before! There is only one book on earth today (other than the Bible) that clearly warns THE GERMANS ARE COMING! Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall is a hard-hitting book that details the events concerning the rise of the prophetic Beast in Europe, the fall of our Israelite countries, the Two Witnesses, and lets you know why it all has to happen. If you haven’t already read it, check it out for yourself! It’s available for free online. Malachi’s Message is the Little Book to God’s Church today. Beyond Babylon is the Little Book with a big impact, destined to become a NATIONAL DEBATE and an INTERNATIONAL CONTROVERSY. It must reach “the largest audience possible”. There exists a Little Book for the Church of God and there’s a Little Book for the nations. This follows the biblical principle of duality. I hope and pray the People of God perceive this to be true, even if their leadership remains too proud and stubborn to see (Ga. 2:9; Rev. 11:8). After prayer, years ago, God promised that His GREAT INSPIRATION would result in a GREAT PUBLICATION (Prov. 1:23; Ps. 68:11). Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall showcases those precious truths to the world (Isa. 45:3). I realize the two witnesses are considered controversial figures (Rev. 11:10; Jer. 15:10), but they must boldly declare God’s judgments (Micah 3:8). After all, it’s the LORD’S CONTROVERSY (Micah 6:1- 2). The wise will hear this INTERNATIONAL THUNDER and take shelter (Rev. 10; Prov. 27:12). The message of God will roar from Jerusalem, and both the heavens and the Earth will tremble at His Word (Joel 3:16). Herbert W. Armstrong said when God’s time comes, the plain truth about traditional Christianity would drop like a BOMBSHELL (USBIP). God’s Time has come! Beyond Babylon explodes that “news bomb” with FULL FORCE! There’s no holding back. (During my interrogation by Israeli Secret Service agents, I told them my book is the only explosives I’m involved with). Gerald Flurry recognizes the need to offer something to the general public, other than the meaty booklets about prophecy that basically preach to the converted. That’s good and right. But which book would God have us publish? Beyond Babylon fulfills the need to proclaim the gospel while emphasizing a warning to the world; it includes the truth about our Israelite identity and responsibility; about God’s Sabbath and Holy Days versus Satan’s Sunday and pagan holidays; about Israel’s demise and Europe’s rise - these are foundational truths. Beyond Babylon builds upon that sure foundation by pointing out that it’s the sorcerer-pope, the false prophet, who presents Europe’s imminent leader as the Savior of “Christian Western Civilization;” he’ll perform miracles in his presence urging Europe to remodel themselves after the “Holy Roman Empire” (Rev. 13:14). Together they’ll create a counterfeit Kingdom of God. Beyond Babylon also explains - FOR THE FIRST TIME - why there are two witnesses, what their mission and purpose is, why they’re stationed in Jerusalem and how they fulfill the Elijah role. PCG minister Wayne Turgeon, during our wonderful correspondence (before PCG minister Dennis Leap turned him against me), wrote concerning my book: “It’s certainly not my place to determine if what you believe God has shown you is true or not, but would you mind presenting Mr. Flurry with an abbreviated version of what you feel is inspired…”. What does he mean it’s not his place to determine whether Beyond Babylon is true or not? Whose place is it? How did he determine if Malachi’s Message was true or not? Are we to rely on men to make up our minds for us? What if he had gone to Joseph Tkach for his approval of Gerald Flurry’s work? We must trust in God’s Spirit of truth and judge everything by God’s Word. Every Church member must prove to themselves, prayerfully before God, whether Beyond Babylon is biblical (1 John 2:27). Those who exercise this spiritual responsibility will come to understand what’s next in God’s Plan: reaching the cities of Judah! Beyond Babylon’s sudden appearance should serve as a SIGN, an indication of where we are now in prophecy (John 12:20-23). Soon God will remove the mountain of opposition that blocks my return to Zion and I’ll continue to build upon the foundation that God has laid in Jerusalem the last time I was there (Zech. 4:7-8). From here on out it’s FAST FORWARD! David Ben-Ariel is a Christian-Zionist writer in Ohio and author of Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall. With a focus on the Middle East and Jerusalem, his analytical articles help others improve their understanding of that troubled region. Visit the Beyond Babylon blog. Think Global, Act Now: Nine Steps to an International Marketing Strategy

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Kent Lewis As technology breaks down geographic and cultural communication barriers, even small businesses can often tap into the global marketplace. If you think your business is too small to pursue international business opportunities, think again. Get a jump on those opportunities by following the 9 steps outlined below. ResearchUnless you spend excessive amounts of time in foreign countries or soak up knowledge like a Jeopardy Champion, you’re probably not able to make an informed decision about a global strategy without doing your homework first. Start with the low-hanging fruit: talk to your coworkers, peers, family and friends. Find out what you can about countries and markets with the greatest potential. Read relevant print and Web publications voraciously (I prefer eMarketer, Economist, Wall Street Journal and Yahoo! for general business and market research). Compile information about various opportunities and determine which markets have the greatest overall potential (in case you’ve been hiding in a cave, here’s an emerging and growth market cheat sheet for you: China, India, South America, Russia and The Middle East). BuildMost small to medium-sized businesses do not have the resources on staff to undertake a global market strategy. Assuming there are sufficient opportunities abroad, it’s time to determine how to develop appropriate resources (i.e. in-country sales and support, logistics and fulfillment). In the build vs. buy decision, many companies prefer to minimize financial risk by partnering with companies that have extensive experience within the target market to provide those resources. While partnering minimizes risk, there are drawbacks, such as lack of direct management oversight. Those negatives can be alleviated by hiring employees who have the education, experience and native language skills relevant to your target market. International students are excellent resources: they are educated, affordable, multi-lingual and usually have some relevant work experience. The potential downside is that youll probably have to navigate through a bushel of red tape in order to secure work visas. AssessAs you’re formulating partnerships or hiring strategies, it’s critical to thoroughly assess current products and services for viability in foreign markets. The offering(s) must be intuitive and scalable. If the offering is not intuitive, that is, easily applicable to the target markets (i.e. there is no apparent need) you will fail. If the offering is not scalable (i.e. it cant be produced and delivered to the target markets profitably) you will fail. The new team should lead the assessment phase and outline a strategy to build or leverage existing infrastructure. ModifyOnce the offering is fine-tuned and ready for market, your sales collateral must be modified. Even if the global partner or new team has native speaking skills, there are reasons to hire professional translation and localization services (e.g. ViaLanguage) to that ensure all cultural nuances are dealt with appropriately. The goal is to ensure that your sales documentation demonstrates that you feel your target markets pain - and that you are able to offer a relevant solution. PartnerWhile your core business and marketing team may already be in place, there are a variety of reasons to explore additional partnerships. Companies specializing in marketing, logistics and customer service are excellent additions to the growing team. Partners within the target market may have relationships with your potential customers that can be leveraged for business development. For instance, we’ve partnered with a homeland security and business consultancy, Eminent Logic, to help penetrate into the Middle Eastern markets. In return, we introduce them to local companies we know that can further their business objectives. NetworkAlternative business development strategies include attending, sponsoring, and participating in industry networking events and conferences. Look into joining industry associations that have a footprint in your target markets, or that are native to the target market. Web-based networking groups (e.g. LinkedIn) can also help expand your network. MarketNow that you’ve built out your infrastructure, trained and deployed a team, and modified your offering and marketing collateral, you’re ready to turn on the fire hose. Two of the most effective forms of outreach are search engine and email marketing. Internet access is everywhere, which means everyone has access to search engines and email. The best way to build a house list of potential customers in your target market is to optimize your international Web site for search engines and offer visitors an incentive to provide their email address. Once you’ve got their permission to contact them regularly, build a relationship and convert site visitors and email subscribers into customers. TravelOver time, cold leads will become hot, and those hot leads will want face-to-face meetings. Its decision time: are you ready to invest in a global travel expense account? If so, be prepared to reel in the business, as most of the world works on a handshake and face time is critical. Turn your business trips into tax-deductible vacations and see the world while you’re at it. ReviewOn a quarterly basis, its very helpful to take a close look at your progress. Assess the effectiveness of your process, strategies and tactics and determine if youre on the right track. If not, look for ways to fine-tune by breaking down the entire process. If youve seen success thus far, understand what is working well for you and decide whether or not you want to scale further. When that is the case, just start over at the research phase and begin searching for your next market opportunity. Following these 9 steps will put you on the fast track toward a global marketing strategy. As Darwin once said, adapt or die Kent Lewis, President, Anvil Media, Inc.With a background in integrated marketing, Lewis left a public relations agency in 1996 to start his search engine marketing career. Since then, he has focused on helping clients solve business problems via the Internet. Lewis founded Anvil Media, Inc. in 2000 to help clients enhance their Web site performance, increase their visibility and generate sales online. He was also Director of Marketing and Business Development at goodguys.com, an online electronics retailer. Lewis is creator and Editor-in-Chief of Anvil, a free monthly e-zine and is an adjunct professor at Portland State University. He speaks regularly on emarketing-related topics at industry conferences like Search Engine Strategies. Lewis sits on the board for Portland Advertising Federation and is actively involved in local charitable organizations. He recently founded Anvil’s Annual Get SMART Gala event to raise awareness for children’s literacy. Lewis received Portland Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2004. Make a Home Made Kid Race Car

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Patricia Jensen Get ready for racing fun with this Home Made Kid Race Car! MATERIALS Rectangular Boxes - apple boxes, xerox paper boxes or similar Colorful plastic or paper plates Spray paint Construction paper in assorted colors Heavy ribbon Staple gun Brad fasteners Craft knife Glue and Masking tape Markers Foam letters and numbers to decorate INSTRUCTIONS: Prepare the Box - Start with one rectangular box for each party guest. If the box has flaps, cut them off with the craft knife. Turn the box upside down and cut out a square area on one side of the bottom (now the top of your race car) big enough to accommodate a child. Paint Your Race Car - Spray paint your box a bright color - red, blue, green, yellow, or orange. Attach “Suspenders” - Using the staple gun, staple heavy ribbon from end to end on either side of the box as “suspenders” to allow kids to wear their cars. Add Wheels - Choose four plastic plates to make two wheels on either side of the box. Use a contrasting color to the color of the race car box itself. Fasten the plates with brads so the wheels will turn. Add another plate on top of the box to make a functioning steering wheel. Add Headlights and Tail Lights - Cut two circles of yellow construction paper and glue to the front of the car for headlights. Cut two smaller circles of red construction paper and glue to the rear end of the car for tail lights. Make an Exhaust Pipe - Make an exhaust pipe from a toilet paper tube with crepe paper streamers. Attach the tube to the car by making a series of cuts around one end of the tube, flaring it out against the back of the car, and securing with masking tape. Personalize Your Race Car - using colored construction paper shapes, markers, foam numbers and letters. Now make a race track in your yard using caution tape, old tires, hay bales, or whatever.
